Last update!!!
Yes, this is Reeces last update, but it is bigger than the previous ones. I have uploaded 3 scenarios, all of them are Fun Multiplayer scenarios. Let me see, there's a new RoR Chess Scenario, a scenario called Last Four, and the last one is called Jungle Safari.
There are plenty of natural resources to be had. There are also many hidden secrets and surprise bonuses just waiting to be discovered. But, there are perils too...
A third player, always played the computer, has a few "sniping" units in various locations. And, as in any real jungle safari, there are dangerous wild animals to watch out for.

P.S. Lets all hope Telecontar gets over the flu. And thanks for letting me update this page for the time you've been away.

AoE Singleplayer
I'll make this a quick update since it's late. A new scenario titled, "Egyption Treachery" has been uploaded and is ready for your viewing pleasure. The author claims this is for advanced players, but we'll see about that.

Fun 4 Player Scenario
This time it's a four player AoE scenario. You have 20 laser men and a wonder. What you have to do is defeat the men and the wonders. This can be a 1 player scenario too. You can download it in the Multiplayer Fun Scenarios section.

Fun Scenario
Sorry for the late update, my ISP was down for a while, and when it was working again, I went out to see the movie, "Enemy of the State". It was a good movie with plenty of action. The scary thing that I thought was that these things probably happen in our lives.
The scenaio that I have finished reveiwing does not really require any skills, all you have to do is walk around looking into walls with wildlife inside. So if you feel like exploring the limits of AoE, download it for your viewing pleasure.

Scenario Uploaded
Yet another scenario for you downloading freaks. This ROR scenario was sent in by an unkown person, so if this is your piece of work, please send me an Email claiming that it's yours.
The nice webmaster over at Net Campaign, put a link to this site saying that I'm doing some nice work. So the least I could do is link to his site.

Another Scenario
This time it's a one player fun scenario for AoE. I think this map should of taken a long time to make because of the mazes. Here's the authors review.
The Minotaur's Maze is a quest to expose the secret of Asterius, the Minotaur. King Minos of Minoa has demanded that Athens provide
a yearly tribute of Seven Men and Seven Maidens as sacrifice to the Minotaur. You are Theseus, son of Aegus King of Athens, and have
volunteered to go to Minoa. Travel through the maze, and secure all 5 major artifacts. There are also various War Chests to find. Once you have
secured all 5 Artifacts, you will learn the secrets of the maze.

Campaign posted!!!
I have finished reviewing another fine piece of RoR artwork. This campaign was made for RoR, so don't bother downloading it if you only have AoE. As most of you know, Eggman creates great pieces of work, so this is a MUST DOWNLOAD. The title of his work is "Sword of Choson Part I:Kingdom of the Morning Calm". His review is below, and here's the link.
"This campaign covers the origins of the first major nation-state on the Korean Peninsula, the kingdom of Ancient Choson. The scenarios cover a wide spectrum of AoE action from pure puzzle solving that tests your knowledge of the game to non-stop action."
I ran into some problems with this campaign. I couldn't figure out how to pass the second level. All I know to do on it is, chop down the tree that is on the edge of the map on the left, because this will allow you to build a town center to fish the shore fish, but there's one problem, when all the villagers are carrying their full load of 10 wood pieces, the tree you chopped down stays there, even though it's got no wood left in it. I couldn't figure out what to do here, so you may run into that problem. I'll post what you probably have to do here anyway. Then you move one of the villagers to the cliffs to claim the gaia buildings to be able to go to tool. Now when in tool you should build a transport, delete the dock so your villagers can board the ship. Then move down to the southern landing, now your on your own.
Stainless Steel Studios' grand opening
Rick Goodman, founder of Stainless Steel Studios, has officially opened his company. This company was a spin-off from Ensemble Studios, and Rick Goodman was the lead designer of Age of Empires. He is now designing a new real time strategy game called "Empire Earth", which will span an ever greater time of history - from 500,000 BC to 2200 AD - and thus cover the entire lifespan of the human race (at least the lifespan will be that short if they behave like in a strategy game).
Take a look at their Photo Album and enjoy the sight of their big party!
Rise of Rome wins awards
Like for AoE last year, it is time for the "Rise of Rome" expansion to AoE for collecting awards. They have won the "Wargamer's Award of Excellence" and
the "Gamezilla Reader's Choice Award" for Best Add-On or Expansion Pack.
AoE was also a runner-up for Gamezilla's award for the game of the year. Click at the pictures for an extensive review (Wargamer) or the full award list (Gamezilla).
Here are the comments:
We believe that Age of Empires is one of the best games in the war and strategy genre, period. Congratulations to the teams at Microsoft and Ensemble Studios.WargamerAge of Empires took top honors in our 1997 Awards and many of us thought it would be hard to top. The guys at Ensemble Studios proved us wrong with this fantastic addition. Rarely does an add-on pack measure up to the level of the original game, much less best itas Rise of Rome does.Gamezilla

More links added
Another 3 links added. Two are regular AoE pages, and the other is pure strategy. Expect an update of a new 1 player scenario either later tonight, or tomorrow afternoon. If you have scenarios that you have tested for Telecontar, you can send the review to me at wakatipu@msn.com.

AoE2 suggestion database updated
Finally I have found some time (while learning for my exams) to update the AoE2 wishes database again. I have gone through hundreds of suggestions, but since most good ideas have already been stated, there was not that much new to discover. Here is a list of the latest ideas:

Another day, another scenario
I have tested and approved another scenario titled, "One More Labyrith". If you want to know what it is about without going to the "SINGLE PLAYER SECTION", here's the authors summary.
aaaaa"This is not really a maze-type scenario. Rather, you wind your way through the forest, encountering different clusters of the enemy, grouped by fighting unit. After you kill all the enemy armies in the forest, cross the lake and attack the heavily guarded enemy fortress. This scenario is for beginner and mid-level players. I hope you like it."

New Scenario Added
I have just finished testing the new 1 player scenario "River of no Reurn". It was a challenging scenario, so go have a look. It can be located in the 1 player senarios section, and it is made for AoE.
Female Villiger
I have noticed that in the forums, people have been asking if there will be a female villigers. The answer is yes. She will make cloth, farm, and lots of other things. Here's a picture of a women villiger bellow.
Thanks
Thanks to all of you who have visited my site, the hits doubled, but NO ONE signed up.

New links posted
Just like the title says, I have updated the AOE links section with 3 or 4 links, so pop on around and see if you like anything.
I won't be updating the scenarios section since it will be too complicated for me, but I may update some more links. So if you have a site to send to me, my Email adress is wakatipu@msn.com.
I have a site of my own that I think some of you may like to visit. It is about ROR, so if you don't have it, don't even bother clicking on the link at the bottom of this message. I'll explain a little of what it's about.
There are maps that join together to form continents. Each player out of 5, tries to defeat everyone on that map to claim that territory. There are around 6 to 12 maps per continent, and more may be added onto it later. They point of the game is to conquer all the maps on a continent to claim it yours. If you do that, you may recieve a free copy of the highly anticipated game, AoE2. I have not decided if I will give away a free copy yet, but when the games start being played, I will then decide. So please stop on around if you have time.

Reeces Here
As you know, Telecontar will not be here for 2 weeks starting 2 days from now(I think). So I have a long list of ways to update the site. The main purpose that I am writing this is to see what this form can really do. So at the bottom of this message, I will write some HTML to see if it works in this form, but it may not work. And this message may look a bit weird.
As I said in the forum, I will try to update the links page, scenarios section, and the news. I will also be answereing questions in the forum. Now I am going to test out some other things he said I could do.
Wow, I'm in this FTP thing, and it's pretty impresive. Even though it was hard to figure out, after reading over it for an hour, I finally got it.

I will design my own game :D
I got a job that many of you will consider a dream job - I will design and program a computer game. It will be a business game, designed for future students so they can learn how to manage a company without wasting a fortune on mistakes :)
There is no web page yet, and the details are not set in stone. I will work at the prototype during the next six months. After then I will leave Glasgow so I cannot continue my work. Of course I am delighted to be part of the design team.
Scenario testing in progress...
There are quite a few people testing scenarios now, but we could use more scenario tester who have the RoR expansion set (both for single and multi player scenarios). If you want to boldly go where no man has gone before (or played, respectively), sent me a mail and tell me which kind of scenarios (single/multi/RoR or not) you play.
Exams starting next week ;(
Sorry for not keeping the page updated now, I had too much to for my exams and also for getting the administrivia for the job right. The flight also took longer than expected (due to a hurricane over Scotland all flights were cancelled, and we had to wait for three hours until they were open again; the flight was a pretty shaky ride, where they did not serve tea or coffee and turned the lights off - but at the end, everything was fine).
If someone wants to help me keeping the page up to date for the next two weeks (while I will not have much time), contact me. Only contact me if you really intend to spend some time (one hour per week) on the page.

RoR version of "A Clash of Kingdoms"
Joey has made a revised A Clash of Kingdoms, (501 KB, .zip) altered to fit a RoR setting. If you have the expansion set, I recommend to try this new version.
In the future, all links to Rise of Rome scenarios and campaigns will be in italics and also otherwise clearly visible as such. People without the expansion set will still have a wide selection of excellent scenarios and campaigns.
Flying back...
Tomorrow I will leave Switzerland for six months and fly back to Glasgow. My exams will start soon then, so I will be busy and maybe not update the page regularly. I hope that making the computer work will not be as painful as it was last time. Read the the whole story about the dangers that can occur when fiddling with your hardware if you like :)

New campaigns
Another year has passed - and why not start the new year with two new campaigns? Joey and Jules have made two great new campaigns - "A Clash of Kingdoms" and "The Reign of King Menkaure". Hours of enjoyment are guaranteed.
None of these campaigns require the Rise of Rome expansion yet; as soon as a new RoR campaign is added, an icon will show that RoR is required.
