I have also set up a message board so people can share their knowledge about the different file formats.

Scenario files

Whenever an incorrect .scn file is found, the scenario is replaced by a large, clear grass map. So when you change a byte and get such a scenario, you will have to go back and try again :(
The strange thing is that if you save a scenario twice, you will get different files. For instance, this scenario and that one are entirely different files, but they are in fact the same scenario.

The first five bytes look like some version number; the bytes 0C to 0F seem to be a timestamp (you can put arbitrary stuff into it)

Now the fun starts :)   So far, no one has been able to change a byte there without corrupting the scenario :(
