Product Overview: The Age of Empires expansion pack is an add-on to the award-winning, best-selling real-time strategy game Age of Empires that focuses on the ancient Roman empire. This expansion will have several new features including four additional civilizations, several unique units and three entirely new campaigns, including a showcase campaign focusing on the rise of Rome.

The Age of Empires expansion pack is being developed by Ensemble Studios, and features the expertise of Bruce Shelley, co-designer of Age of Empires and the hit strategy game Civilization.

New Features:

• Four New Civilizations. In addition to the twelve tribes available in Age of Empires, gamers will now have four additional civilizations to choose and command. The new civilizations include Carthage, Palmyra, Macedonia and Rome, and each tribe will have their own strengths and weaknesses and area of expertise.
• Totally new units - There will several new units that gamers will be able to play with the Age of Empire expansion, including a Camel Rider, Scythe Chariot, Slinger, Fire Galley and Armored Elephant.
• Roman Architecture - More than twenty-five new buildings are available for gamers to build, including the Roman Colosseum as the Romans' Wonder of the World.
• Challenging Campaigns - Gamers will be challenged to complete three totally new campaigns made up of dozens of additional scenarios. These campaigns will include the showcase campaign that focuses on the Rise of Rome.
• Larger map size/Different map types - To make gamplay even more challenging and competitive, a larger map size will be added to the existing maps. In addition, several new map types will be added, including treacherous Hill Country, Narrows, Mediterranean, and Continental.
• Epic Music and sounds - Several new CD-quality musical tracks and sounds will be included, adding to the epic flavor and enriching the gaming experience.
